Hey y’all, it’s Ro, and I’m a recovering people pleaser.

A B O U T M E

I’m a trauma-educated coach with a passion for neuroscience, human potential, and emotional and relational intelligence.

I’m nonbinary / genderfluid and my pronouns are they, he and she.

I’m also a writer, punk vocalist, local music scene documenter and promoter, a revolutionary Marxist, and a low key chaos witch.

I do this work because I’ve struggled all my life to show up for myself, and I want people like me to have more options and better support than I did.

I live with Complex PTSD, which manifests as ADHD, anxiety and depression, nervous system dysregulation and a bunch of fun somatic symptoms. ’m a recovering people pleaser, codependent and anxious attachment type.

M Y M I S S I O N

I am a commitment to unlocking myself so that I can help empower others, so that we can build a better world together.

My mission is to guide people who struggle with pleasing, hiding, silencing, hustling and fawning to start being on their own side, so they can craft a life of safety, dignity and belonging.

I help people shift perspective, change behavior, and find healing modalities that work for them, so that they can access more agency and more choice in their lives.

And I believe that emotional intelligence, relational intelligence, and trauma healing and prevention is THE KEY to a truly egalitarian world with far less unnecessary suffering. A world that prioritizes human wellness over profit and competition.

If you’re ready to show up for yourself, for others and for the world, join me! We are showing up!

 Music

One of my greatest passions is performing on stage, and it taught me a great deal about social anxiety, self love, and the courage it takes to develop confidence.

Broken Together, 2019

My current band is called Shame Banger. We released our first 7 song EP on October 31st, 2019, primarily about mental health and relationship challenges.

This is the first release that I’m really proud of, although most of the credit goes to my amazingly talented bandmates, Scot Michael, Jimmy Eager and Jimmy LaRue.

This is a collection of honest songs, intended to capture the challenges of living in struggle with yourself - invasive thoughts, loving abusive people, being ambitious but failing a lot, drunk sex with strangers. There’s even a song about selling myself as a coach when my own life is messy.

Listen on Bandcamp, Spotify, and anywhere else you stream your music.

The Zero Demo, 2015

Spit In The Well was my first band. I wrote a few songs, put the band together (more than a couple times) and embarked on a 3-year adventure that taught me about performing, booking, band dynamics, and most importantly, how to face fears on stage.

Kaala

Kaala is a project that aims to make music undergrounds more accessible, whether by music exchange or body exchange, and facilitate community building internationally. In Japan, we maintain Kaala.jp which makes it easy to find information about bands, venues, and upcoming underground music events throughout Japan. In the US, we’re working on Kaala Tours, which offers tour packages currently between Seattle and Tokyo. I manage Kaala Seattle, which seeks to spread the word about Seattle’s incredible local talent in metal, punk and rock.
